Did you know that by thinking about yourself first, and the money you could save, that you could also be doing good for the environment?

  1. Replacing 4 frequently used light bulbs with a compact fluorescent bulb would save you $80.00 per year and the environment 400 lbs. of carbon dioxide (CO2).
  2. Keeping the tires on your vehicle adequately inflated by check them monthly would save you $840 per year and the environment 250 lbs. of carbon dioxide (CO2).
  3. Checking and maintaining adequately your vehicle's air filter monthly would save you $130 per year and the environment 800 lbs. of carbon dioxide (CO2).
  4. Operating your dishwasher each and every time with only full loads would save you $40 per year and the environment 200 lbs. of carbon dioxide (CO2).
  5. Adjusting your thermostat down two degrees in winter and up two degrees in the summer would save you $98 per year and the environment 2000 lbs. of carbon dioxide (CO2).
  6. Adjusting your water heater thermostat no higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit would save you $30 per year and the environment 500 lbs. of carbon dioxide (CO2).

  10. Ensuring your printer paper is 100% post consumer recycled paper would save you $.80 per ream and the environment 5 lbs. of carbon dioxide (CO2) per ream of paper. The paper industry is the third greatest contributor to global warming emissions.
